craig olivier celebrates 10 years at genasys

Craig was only 20 years old when he started at Genasys a decade ago.  Fresh out of college, with long blonde hair and the same ambitious, fun, contagious personality we have all come to love, Craig strolled through Genasys’ doors, and was instantly hooked.

As a child, Craig was fascinated by electronics and his interest in computers and IT was a natural progression.  Even in his high school days he could be found tampering with circuits and writing code.  He proceeded to study software development after school and excelled in his field.  He was a natural choice for Genasys who were looking for a developer at the time.  He joined at a peak time in the IT industry and went on a steep learning curve while working with the best in the industry. His subsequent knowledge and skills in the technical and insurance arenas are hard to beat.

When he started at Genasys, he was one of three developers in a small company in an office in Somerset West.  He has been a part of the exciting growth Genasys has experienced over the past ten years, now a company with multiple teams in various cities around the world.

Craig was also instrumental in the transformation of SKi, which was previously known as Co1.  SKi is now a world leading software program in the insurance industry and a lot of that ground was broken by Craig and other critical members of the Genasys team.

Now that there is a well-functioning system in place, Craig is enjoying the customer service aspect of his job.  He loves providing solutions and solving client’s problems.  He is passionate about learning more about the ever-changing industry and building relationships with customers, knowing that SKi is fully equipped to provide solutions for their goals.  Meeting with clients all over the world is one of his favourite parts of the job because he isn’t the type that enjoys being cooped up in an office all day.  In fact, when he isn’t working, Craig is most often in the outdoors.  He loves surfing, camping with friends and exploring the winelands.

No matter where he is, it is obvious that Craig loves what he does.  He is an integral part of our team and is committed to be a part of Genasys’ continual growth.  We all hope this is simply the first decade of a long and successful career at Genasys.

What’s new in SKi 1.6?

SKi 1.6 introduces exciting new functionality.  Some of the great features include:

Policy Endorsement History Viewer
Every time an endorsement is made to a policy, Ski will save the changes and these differences will be loaded and displayed on the client policy screen.  This means you can immediately see a summary of what changed.  The fields that are shown at any given time, as well as the language, are fully customisable.

Allowing Endorsements to a Policy in Renewal
Any new risks added to a client’s policy will be added to their renewal policy as well.  In a similar manner, any risks that are deleted are also removed from the renewal policy.

Policy Allocation
Policy Allocation allows you to generate receipts for all outstanding debit notes at once.

Automation System
The automation system is a new mechanism to define and execute various system features in batch format. It allows you to specify which policies should be processed and then to select which tasks to process on each policy in order.

Tasks currently include:  Prepare Policy for Renewal, Activate Renewal Policy, Commercial Policy Re-rate (Lists all commercial premium calculations defined on the risk types returned and allows you to specify how each one should be adjusted and you can create a before and after report), Domestic Policy Re-rate (Custom scripting can be written to modify any part of the policy after which the policy will be re-rated and you can print a before and after report), Print Policy Schedule, Print Policy Letter, Save Policy to Database (You can do a re-rate and print letters and a schedule, but not actually apply the changes until the client accepts the new rates.)

Please contact us at 0860 GENSYS for a demonstration of these and other exciting features in SKi 1.6.
